VLOV Spring/Summer Collection 2012
V Love It Too…
By Kristen Irby, Menswear Fashion Editor, ASTONISH Magazine
Wu Qingqing, creative director of China-based designer brand VLOV, presented a sleek and sexy collection for men at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Laser-sharp tailoring and graceful simplicity added to the wonder of this presentation with a color palette divided into two themes. The pale grey representing introspective elegance while the electric blue and stark white represented hope.
“My inspiration was the inside of space,” said Qingqing. “In the space you can have your own creativity, your own thinking and your own interpretation.” The designer added that “modern architecture automobile lines” also inspired him. Highlights of the collection: Where does one begin and where to end? The light grey nylon embossed jumpsuit with zipper placket, the eye-popping blue jersey zip jacket and blue jersey pants, the blue jersey short sleeve V-neck jacket against white cotton pants, a stunning display, and the white nylon zip jacket with white cotton pants speak tremendously of Qingqing’s ability to achieve masterful silhouettes for men that are cutting-edge with dramatic contrasts.
